Hand-Carved Wooden Folk Art – Wyatt Earp, arguably the most legendary and heavily romanticized American Old West lawman, gambler and gunfighter, famous for the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral that lasted 30 seconds, deputized as a US Marshal then led a vigilante posse across Arizona, tracking down the and killing the men responsible for killing and crippling his brothers, spent his final years in LA working as a film consultant for early Hollywood Western directors like John Ford, artist carved “VIT” in bottom, initials of a talented regional woodcarver that has deep roots in waterfowl decoy carving, the texture work on the clothing and boots strongly mimics the “feather texturing” techniques used by wildlife carvers to give wooden birds a realistic look before paint is applied, figurines have been in storage for 40 years, were going to be put on display at Donley’s Wild West Town, minor scuffs, good condition, 11″ x 6 1/2″
