Lot 2474:
Description
Lot of two (2) early 20th century, solid-frame, pocket revolvers. The first is a Belgian made, double-action pocket revolver marked “BRITISCH” (note the German spelling) above “LONDON”. The markings indicate that the revolver was manufactured for export to the British market, a common practice in Liege, Belgium, for lower-cost arms. The serial number “22” is inscribed on the frame, under the grip. The revolver features a 2.25” barrel, a six-shot cylinder, a side loading gate, and a push-rod casing ejector. All measurements indicate a 9mm caliber. The second revolver is a Baby Hammerless Model 1922 miniature pocket revolver. It was manufactured by the R.F. Sedgley of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it is a classic “vest-pocket” handgun from the interwar period. Markings on the frame above the cylinder clearly read: “PAT. 4.5.10 – 2.13.17 / BABY HAMMERLESS / MODEL 1922 U.S.A.” The distinctive “S” logo is clearly visible on the checkered black hard rubber grip panels. The revolver features a nickel finish, a 1.5” round barrel, a 6-shot cylinder, a folding trigger, and is chambered in .22 short. Both revolvers finish show patina consistent with age and use. The trigger action on both revolvers needs to be adjusted/repaired. The bores show freaking and the rifling is prominent. Please see photos for overall condition. From Donley’s Wild West Town Museum.
