Description

This 19th-century “Slim Jim” or California-style holster is a classic piece of frontier-era leatherwork, likely designed for a medium-frame percussion or early cartridge revolver. Constructed from heavy, dark-tanned leather, it features a distinctive teardrop-shaped flap secured by a hand-stitched, leather-wrapped toggle button—a high-quality detail typical of mid-to-late 1800s artisanal manufacture. The reverse retains its original belt loop system, which, along with the main body, remains remarkably pliable and stable for its age. An authentic hand-stitched toe plug completes the tapered profile. Condition is objectively stable; the leather exhibits significant surface crazing, deep creasing, and minor scuffing consistent with authentic field use and long-term storage. The interior shows natural darkening and fibrous wear. H 12″, W 4″, D 1.75″. Please see photos for condition.
