Description

These early 20th-century lithographed tobacco tins represent the storied history of “The Governor and Company of Adventurers of England Trading into Hudson’s Bay.” The set includes a round “Imperial Mixture” humidor-style tin (H 6″, W 4.5″) and a square “Cut Plug” tin (H 5.25″, W 3″), both finished in the iconic vibrant red synonymous with the HBC brand and featuring the company’s coat of arms. The round humidor displays significant oxidation and pitting on the silver-toned lid and base, with minor scuffs to the red lithography. The square tin shows more pronounced surface rust and “bubbling” to the finish, particularly on the front face, along with shelf wear on the gold-toned lid. Round: H 6″, W 4.5″, D 4.5″. Square: H 5.25″, W 3″, D 3″.
