Phonograph Records And Books Auction - ONLINE ONLY
Lot 2076:
Description
A fascinating collection of vintage books and journals detailing the comprehensive history of early sound recording, phonographs, and jukeboxes. This specialist lot features “His Master’s Voice In America” (1991, first edition complete with its GE Aerospace introductory letter and rare original cardboard shipping box), a two-volume set of “The Phonograph” by Stereo Sound featuring a heavily illustrated Japanese publication alongside its English companion, Frank Adams’ “Jukeboxes 1900-1992: Volume I,” a 1916 first printing of Dayton Clarence Miller’s “The Science of Musical Sounds,” Cal Stewart’s 1905 illustrated “Uncle Josh’s Punkin Centre Stories,” a 1991 ARSC Journal (Vol. 22, No. 2), and a 1998 NARAS Journal winter edition celebrating Thomas Edison. The collection is in generally good to very good condition, showing minor shelf wear, edge rubbing, and light spine aging consistent with handled reference materials, though the bindings remain tight, the interior pages are clean and legible, and the Victor book box remains structurally intact. H 6″, W 14″, D 9.5″. Please see photos for condition.
