Phonograph Records And Books Auction - ONLINE ONLY
Lot 2049:
Description
This specialized collection of seven reference books is an indispensable archive for the serious phonograph and cylinder collector. The lot features vital, out-of-print historical guides and discographies published across the United States and France between 1980 and 2006, including Timothy C. Fabrizio and George F. Paul’s “Antique Phonograph Advertising,” Allan Sutton’s “Pseudonyms on American Records,” Ronald Dethlefson’s “Edison Blue Amberol Recordings,” and Julien Anton’s “Henri Lioret: Un horleger pionnier du phonographe”—notably featuring a personalized author inscription to renowned phonograph expert Allen Koenigsberg. Built with durable hardcovers, softcovers, and specialized comb-bindings for easy bench reference, these volumes offer a wealth of data on early recording pioneers, Pathé and Edison cylinders, and talk machine industries. Mechanically and structurally sound, the books exhibit light shelf wear, minor corner bumping, and sporadic cover scuffs, though the “Dusting Off a Little History: Spring Type Phonographs” volume remains excellently preserved in its original shrink wrap, and pages throughout remain clean, tightly bound, and unmarked aside from the noted inscriptions. Stacked: H 5.25″, W 11.5″, D 9″. See photos for condition.
