The collection features Recorded Music in American Life: The Phonograph and Popular Memory, 1890–1945 by William Howland Kenney (Oxford University Press); Bert Williams: A Biography of the Pioneer Black Comedian by Eric Ledell Smith (McFarland & Company, 1992); King of Ragtime: Scott Joplin and His Era by Edward A. Berlin (Oxford University Press, 1994); and EMI: The First 100 Years by Peter Martland (B.T. Batsford Ltd, 1997). This group offers an excellent deep dive into early 20th-century entertainment history, ragtime music, and pioneering audio documentation. The books are in good, readable condition with minor shelf wear, light edge bumping, and a previous library or inventory stamp visible on the interior page of the Kenney volume.
