Description
Brown wax cylinder features recording #2003, “Almost Persuaded,” performed by pioneer recording artist Harry MacDonough and produced by the National Phonograph Co. of Orange, New Jersey. This historic piece of audio history includes the wax cylinder itself, a fragile paper slip insert, and an illustrated cardboard storage tube, though it is unclear if this specific tube is original to the cylinder. Structurally, the wax cylinder is sound with no visible cracks or detrimental scratches, though it exhibits a fair amount of surface mold and typical vintage discoloration. The paper insert is heavily creased and partially torn down the center. H 4.5″, W 2.5″, D 2.5″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
