Lot 1037:
Description
This late 19th-century brown wax cylinder phonograph record from the Columbia Phonograph Company (Catalog No. 5284) features early pioneer recording artist Dan W. Quinn performing the song “Old Bill Jones.” The lot includes the antique brown wax cylinder and its original matching paper title slip. Objectively, the cylinder is in stable condition with no visible breaks, chips, or cracks, though it exhibits typical surface mold spotting and atmospheric weathering characteristic of organic wax from this era, which will affect audio playback quality. H 4″, W 2.25″, D 2.25″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
