Description
This paper and cardstock collection from the Cheney Talking Machine Company of Chicago, Illinois, circa 1918–1920, showcases the early 20th-century talking machine era. The grouping consists of a large product catalogue with a Baltimore Oriole illustration on the cover, a booklet titled “The Cheney: A True Musical Instrument” with a 1920 copyright and interior illustrations of cabinet models like the Sheraton Mahogany, a “The Cheney and the Complete Home” promotional brochure, a dual-sided iuctional insert detailing reproducer adjustments, an envelope addressed to a client in Carey, Ohio, and a small advertising envelope from the A.C. Becken Company of Chicago. The lot shows age-appropriate physical condition throughout, including edgechipping, creasing, light toning, and significant tears to the primary mailing envelope, though the interior pages and graphic covers remain largely intact.
