Description

This extensive historical grouping of approximately 21 pieces of early 20th-century talking machine and phonograph needle ephemera includes an exceptional variety of advertising circulars, instructional inserts, mail-order flyers, and period needle packets. The lot highlights notable early audio brands and distributors such as the Edison Phonograph Company of Orange, New Jersey, Decca Records, Inc. of New York City, Regal Records, Aretino Records of Chicago, Illinois, Speak-O-Phone Corporation of America, and specialized needle makers like B.C.N. (The Music Lover’s Needle), Wade & Wade fiber needle cutters, Peter Grey Kacti needles of Oakland, California, Hall Concaved Fibre Needles, and a Wallace Reducing Records flyer. Visually, these paper and lightweight cardstock items exhibit vibrant text and graphics with a well-preserved, authentic aged patina. Objectively, the pieces show expected light toning, minor edge wear, and faint handling creases consistent with their age and fragile nature, but they remain remarkably intact with no significant paper loss or major defects.
