Description

This original trio of promotional pieces from the Universal Talking Machine Mfg. Co. of Newark, New Jersey, highlights the brand’s progression through early 20th-century audio marketing. The lot includes a horizontally formatted green-and-cream “TheNew Zon-O-Phone” introductory booklet, a March 1909 “Zon-O-Phone Double Record Discs” catalog featuring the signature “On Speaking Terms” cherub-and-horn trademark, and a green November 1926 “Zonophone Records” electrical recording supplemented by UK dealer F. H. Ireson of Wellingborough. These booklets trace the industrial shift from pre-war acoustic discs to the late-1920s electrical recording era. All three paper booklets exhibit expected vintage wear consistent with age and handling, including minor edge toning, light cover scuffs, faint handling creases, and soft corners, while remaining structurally sound with entirely legible interiors. H 7.25″, W 5″, D 0.1″ (Largest); H 6″, W 3.5″, D 0.1″ (Medium); H 3.5″, W 5.75″,(Small). Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
