Description

An exceptionally rare piece of early recorded sound history, this original paper record slip/ticket originates from the Bettini Phonograph Laboratory, famously operating out of 110 Fifth Avenue in New York City during the late 1890s to very early 1900s. Founded by Lieutenant Gianni Bettini, an inventor who revolutionized early audio playback with his specialized micro-phonograph diaphragms, this lab catered to an elite clientele, producing high-end, premium phonograph cylinders that are legendary among audiophiles today. The slip features a distinctive Bettini phonograph logo illustration, elegant typography stating “None genuine without signature,” and a printed facsimile signature of Bettini himself. This fragile paper ephemeral piece sws its history clearly; it exhibits heavy foxing and moisture staining throughout the front and back, overall paper toning, edge wear, and a notable clean vertical tear on the right side, currently protected inside a mylar sleeve. H 3.5″, W 8″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
