35 copies of The Phonograph from its 1st issue on April 18th, 1916 to December 13th, 1916. All In good condition. The copies were at some time in a bound folio..The Phonograph (later renamed The Phonograph & Talking Machine Weekly) was a highly prominent American trade publication founded in March 1916 by editor Curtis A. Wessel and publisher Edward H. Davis. The business was officially formed in New York in March 1916 as the Phonograph Publications Company by Edward H. Davis, Curtis A. Wessel, and J. Lawrence Friedmann. Its primary location was established at 146 Water Street in New York City. The first issue came out on April 18, 1916. It was issued as a trade paper running every Wednesday. It was created to serve the rapidly expanding audio, talking machine, and record industry. It targeted phonograph dealers, manufacturers, distributors, and advertisers by documenting product releases, sales trends, and technical advancements. As consumer technology advanced into the mid-to-late 1920s, the paper expanded its coverage to adapt to changing markets, evolving into The Talking Machine & Radio Weekly to encompass the massive rise of commercial radio Archive measures 11″ wide, 14″ tall, 2″ thick.
