The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3483:
Description
This is an excellent trio of early 20th-century paper ephemera items published by the Victor Talking Machine Company out of Camden, New Jersey, showcasing the brand’s legendary marketing reach into American education and homes. Included in the lot are “The Victor in Rural Schools” (stamped by Landay Bros., New York City), a dealer-stamped promotional catalog from The Meiklejohn Company of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and an official user manual titled “How to get the most out of your Victrola” cighted in 1924. Each softcover booklet features the iconic Nipper the dog “His Master’s Voice” logo and offers a fascinating look into early phonograph history, music pedagogy, and period typography. In terms of condition, the largest booklet exhibs a partially detached front cover at the spine and some age-toning, while the other two examples show only minimal handling wear and light edge chipping but remain in overall great, structurally sound shape. H 7.75″, W 5.5″, D 0.25″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
