The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3466:
Description
An excellent collection of nine early 20th-century promotional documents and record supplements from the Columbia Phonograph Company, showcasing a fascinating era of audio innovation and marketing. This paper lot includes an original January 6, 1908, “New Columbia Records” March supplement, a 1927 “Electric Recordings” flyer highlighting soprano Eva Turner, a “Foreign Series” disc and cylinder catalogue detailing international releases, a “Grand Opera From Milan” price pamphlet, and a specialized historical booklet titled “Columbia Graphophone Company’s Contributions to the Talking Machine Industry within the Past Ten Years.” These items provide an invaluable reference for early music formats, referencing early pricing structure for “Indestructible Cylinder Records” and “Gold-Moulded” variations. The items vary in condition, showing expected antique wear appropriate for their age, including minor edge tears, surface creasing, horizontal folds on the large supplements, text toning, and mild spotting or foxing, though all text and graphic illustrations remain highly legible and clear for research. H 11″, W 8.5″, D 0.25″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
