Description

This original group of five Thomas A. Edison, Inc. paper record catalogs from Orange, New Jersey, dating from 1913 to 1921, includes three narrow “Numerically Arranged” booklets—an Edison Amberol Records guide from September 1919, an Edison Amberol Records guide from February 1921, and an Edison Blue Amberol Records guide from February 1918—alongside two illustrated Art Nouveau-style “Edison Cylinder Records” alphabetical catalogs containing internal title pages from November 1915 and April 1913. Notably, the 1913 guide features a highly desirable provenance for recorded sound historians, bearing the interior ownership stamp of early discographer Dwayne D. Deakins, as well as a cover marking for “Peine.” Objectively, the collection shows moderate to heavy wear across all items, including varying degrees of page toning, spine wear, edge chipping, paper loss on the 1921 cover, and old tape repairs on multiple spines and covers. Large catalogs measure H 8″, W 5″, D 0.25″; narrow catalogs measure H 9″, W 3.75″, D 0.1″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
