Description

A fascinating collection of approximately 12 early 20th-century antique paper ephemera items published by Thomas A. Edison, Inc. out of Orange, New Jersey, showcasing the dawn of recorded sound. This historic lot features an assortment of promotional pamphlets, supplements, and record listings aimed at cylinder and early disc phonograph owners, including an “Edison Diamond Amberolas” catalog, an “Edison Gold Moulded Records” flyer, “Edison Amberol Records” booklets, and a first edition of “The Golden Treasury of Edison Blue Amberol Records.” These pieces boast exquisite period graphics, artist listings, and advertising text extolling the “Delights of the Phonograph.” Objectively, the lot shows moderate to significant handling wear consistent with age, including edge fraying, page creasing, staining, and surface browning, with several pieces featuring detached or partially detached covers and split spine paper, notably the French “Cylindres Edison Amberol Bleus” catalog which appears to have only the front and back cover remaining. The items range in size from the smaller pamphlets at H 6.25″, W 3.55″, D 0.1″ to the larger Golden Treasury booklet at H 7.5″, W 5.25″, D 0.15″. Please see photos for condition.
