Description

This exceptional turn-of-the-century paper advertising card and record checklist was produced by the National Phonograph Company of Orange, New Jersey. Dated December 1902 (Form No. 364), the front side features a striking Art Nouveau-style layout utilizing brilliant gold-foiled geometric borders framing repetitive, highly stylized illustrations of hands holding Edison cylinder records. The central cartouche proudly bears the classic slogan, “Edison Records Echo All Over the World.” The reverse side provides an extensive, cleanly printed, numbered checklist of “New Edison Moulded Records” available at the time, complete with standard/concert pricing guidelines and a diverse track list featuring orchestral numbers, cornet solos by Bohumir Kryl, and early ragtime-era “coon songs.” An objective assessment reveals the card is in excellent vintage condition with incredibly crisp corners, robust color retention, very minimal edge wear, and only faint, age-appropriate toning on the reverse cardstock. H 6.25″, W 3.5″, D 0.01″. Please see photos for condition. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
