The Allen Koenigsberg Phonograph Collection
Lot 3405:
Description
An exceptional offering for early phonograph and music enthusiasts, this lot includes three original antique paper catalogs for “Edison Gold Moulded Records” issued by the National Phonograph Co. of Orange, New Jersey. Dating from the early 1900s, these promotional booklets feature striking cover graphics with Thomas Edison’s portrait, detailing early cylinder options such as “American Selections” and international titles including “European, British, Asiatic, Mexican, Canadian.” The backs display period dealer stamps and the classic Edison patent restrictions. Structurally intact, these paper ephemera items exhibit minor age-appropriate edge wear, light toning, and minor cover creasing consistent with handling, though the graphics remain vivid and clear. H 6″, W 3.5″, D 0.1″. See photos. From the Allan Koenigsberg collection.
