Description
Atwater Kent Model 60 heavy-duty tube radio introduced in 1929 by the Atwater Kent Manufacturing Company in North Philadelphia PA. Released at an initial retail price of $80 for this base unit, this screen-grid, alternating current (A.C.) receiver was a top-tier model during the golden age of radio. It is technically classified as a Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF) set, praised by vintage electronics enthusiasts for its distinct aesthetic and strong sensitivity. The metal cabinet is in VG condition and retains all original knobs. It is paired with an Atwater Kent F-4-A speaker also in VG condition. The set powers up and has a lot of static but without an antennae wire, no stations were received. Comes with an original instruction book and a Atwater Kent sales booklet. Radio measures 21.5” wide, 10.75” deep, 7.5” tall. The speaker measures 15.75” tall, 13” wide, 7.25”deep. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
