Description
Price-Cutting, A Restraint of Trade is a historical hard cover booklet written by Eldridge R. Johnson, the co-founder and president of the Victor Talking Machine Company. Published in 1912 in Camden, New Jersey, this short text serves as an industry perspective defending fixed retail pricing and opposing price-cutting practices. Johnson argued that price-cutting by third-party merchants was actually a form of unfair competition that disrupted stable distribution networks. He championed Resale Price Maintenance (RPM), arguing that manufacturers should have the legal right to set uniform prices for consumers. In excellent condition, measures 8″ tall, 6″ wide. From the Allen Koenigsberg collection.
