Description
Steyr Mannlicher M95/34 Carbine 8x56mmR
This is a classic Austrian Steyr Mannlicher M95/34 straight-pull carbine, a robust relic of the interwar period and WWII. Originally manufactured as a long rifle by Steyr, the barrel shank is dated “Wn-17,” indicating it was first accepted into Austrian military service in 1917 during the height of WWI. It was later modernized to the carbine configuration and rechambered for the 8x56mmR cartridge, as shown by the prominent “S” stamp. The receiver is marked “STEYR M.95,” and the serial number “2607 S” matches on the receiver, barrel, and bolt. The underside of the barrel near the muzzle bears a TGI KNOX TN import mark. This example features a rich wood stock and deep bluing. The condition is very good for its age; the stock has no structural cracks, the straight-pull action operates as it should but may require light oiling, and while the bore is dark, it retains strong rifling. H 4″, W 39.75″, D 3.5″.Please see photos for overall condition. S/N 2607S C&R Eligible.
