Description
Sporterized Japanese Arisaka Type 99 S/N 7445 (C)
This Nagoya Arsenal Type 99 was originally produced during Series 5, which dates its manufacture to approximately late 1943 to early 1944, S/N 7445. As a mid-war specimen, it showcases the transition toward “Last Ditch” features while still maintaining several early-quality machining characteristics. This rifle has been expertly sporterized for the modern sportsman, featuring a custom Monte Carlo-style walnut stock with a distinctive diamond inlay and a “Fajen” buttplate. The receiver retains its clear “Type 99″ (???) characters and a partially struck Imperial Chrysanthemum (Mum), highlighting its storied military past. It is equipped with a sophisticated after-market aperture receiver sight and a curved bolt handle for improved ergonomics. The metalwork shows a consistent aged patina with surface oxidation on the receiver and barrel, while the custom wood stock displays light handling marks and minor scratches consistent with field use; the rifling remains strong, though the bore would benefit from a thorough cleaning. The bolt is non-matching to the receiver (numbered 575). H 5.25″, W 2.25″, D 43.75”. Please see photos for overall condition. S/N 7445. C&R Eligible.
