Lot 299:
Description
This hand-painted faience inkstand set, likely 18th or 19th-century French or Dutch, features a scalloped-edge tray with a blue and yellow vine border and floral sprigs. It includes two cylindrical pots—one for ink and one for pounce—consistent with regional “petites fleurs” folk-art styles from centers like Quimper or Rouen. The tin-glazed earthenware shows age through significant chipping and glaze loss on the tray edges and pot rims, a stable crack and old repair on the inkwell, and typical kiln stilt marks on the base. H 2.25″, W 6.75″, D 4.5”. Own a piece of history from The Donley’s Wild West Town Museum!
