The Frank Rider Collection - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 2
Lot 1252:
Description
This lot features a collection of three heavy-duty vintage electric motors, including units manufactured by The Holtzer-Cabot Electric Co. of Boston/Chicago and The Emerson Electric Mfg. Co. of St. Louis. These “pancake” style motors are classic examples of industrial-era machinery, likely utilized for mechanical automation in early 20th-century applications such as player pianos or signage. These robust, cast-iron housing units were designed for reliability and longevity in demanding environments. The lot also includes a drive belt, adding utility for those looking to restore or repurpose these motors for workshop use. Given their age, the motors show expected surface oxidation, paint loss, and general patina consistent with decades of storage. Mechanical functionality is untested and unknown. H 10″, W 9″, D 8″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
