The Frank Rider Collection - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 2
Lot 1251:
Description
This substantial collection appears to comprise various mechanical instrument components, likely salvaged from a vintage orchestrion or player organ system. The lot includes several sets of wooden xylophone or glockenspiel bars, pneumatic valve/relay blocks, a mechanical paper roll tracker bar mechanism (bearing a “Seeburg” label), a vintage industrial whistle, and various pneumatic hoses and hardware. These pieces are quintessential components for a restorer or enthusiast dealing in early 20th-century automated musical instruments, potentially originating from the J.P. Seeburg Piano Company of Chicago. The condition of the collection is consistent with salvaged parts; the wooden bars show surface wear and potential variations in finish, the metal components exhibit patina and oxidation typical of their age, and the rubber pneumatic hoses appear brittle. Much of the hardware and wood shows signs of long-term storage, including dust and accumulated debris. H 24″, W 36″, D 30″. Please see photos for condition. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
