The Frank Rider Collection - Spring Classic Part 1 - Day 2
Lot 1000:
Description
The Metal-Typer is a classic coin-operated arcade machine used to create personalized souvenir aluminum tokens. Popular from the 1920s through the 1980s, these mechanical devices were commonly found at boardwalks, amusement parks, and penny arcades. The machine stamps letters and numbers onto a small, round metal disc, often called an identification medal. Users rotate a dial or pointer to choose specific characters. A left handle is pulled to strike a hammer against lettered fingers, imprinting the character onto the token. Most machines allow for up to 32 characters (letters, numbers, and spaces).. Once finished, a right-side lever is pulled to eject the completed medal. This one is sitting on an original base which is also a storage compartment. Looks complete with locks and keys and has seldom seen top marquee. Comes with a large bag of blanks. Overall good condition. Operates for 25 cents. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
