German WWII 2cm Flak 38 Spare Barrel Case
This is an impressive and rare specialized transport case for the 20mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun, the most produced German artillery piece of WWII. While often mistaken for MG-style carriers, the substantial 62" length identifies this as the Laufschützer (barrel protector) for the larger 20mm autocannon. The heavy-gauge steel construction is finished in classic Ordnance Tan (Dunkelgelb) over a visible red oxide primer. This specific example is highly desirable as it retains its internal heavy-duty recoil/buffer springs and the T-handle maintenance tool, which were essential for field-stripping and barrel changes under fire. The case features dual fixed handles and robust compression latches. Condition is excellent for a field-used relic, showing authentic wear, scattered surface oxidation. H 5", W 62", D 10".
