This pair of monumental figures captures the stoic dignity of the Qin Dynasty’s legendary army. Crafted in the classic Kneeling or Standing Archer and Infantry style, these statues are made of cast terra-cotta or heavy composite with a sophisticated bronzed and gilded patina that highlights the intricate details of the lamellar armor and traditional topknot hairstyles. From an expert’s view, these represent the iconic archaeological finds of Xi’an, likely 20th-century high-quality decorative reproductions given the uniform finish and modern wooden display plinths. The items show some age-related wear to the finish and dust accumulation; notably, one figure displays a visible hairline crack or repair seam around the neck area, while both show minor scuffing on the base edges.
