Hollywood Blvd Cinema Memorabilia
Lot 1313:
Description
This striking pair of large, ovoid-form ceramic jars showcases a rustic, high-gloss ochre glaze with a wonderfully textured, earthen finish near the rims, reminiscent of traditional provincial stoneware or “martaban” style storage vessels. The set features a weathered, aged patina that suggests a mid-20th-century origin, possibly inspired by Southeast Asian or Chinese utilitarian pottery. Each jar is topped with a spray of delicate, pale pink artificial cherry blossoms, adding a soft, organic contrast to the heavy, grounded nature of the ceramic. Both vessels appear to be in good vintage condition with no significant structural cracks or large chips visible, though the glaze shows some expected surface wear and firing irregularities consistent with this style of production. H 40″, W 14″, D 14″ Please use photos to judge condition and bid accordingly. Please note: Buyer is responsible for removal. From the Hollywood Blvd. Cinemas Collection.
