Description
This striking Tibetan Thangka depicts a wrathful deity, likely Mahakala, the protector of Dharma, rendered in a traditional “black thangka” (nagpa) style with gold detailing. The central figure is surrounded by a flaming mandorla and flanked by lineage masters and deities in the upper and lower registers. The piece is framed in a classic multi-colored silk brocade mounting featuring imperial dragon motifs, typical of 20th-century Himalayan liturgical art. The textile shows natural age-related rippling, minor fraying at the edges of the brocade, and light surface dust, though the central imagery remains vibrant.
