Lot 520:
Description
This attractive lot features a bohemian-style ruby flashed glass decanter with floral engravings and vertical thumbprint cuts. It is paired with two ruby-to-clear souvenir pieces engraved “Illinois State Fair 1937,” providing excellent historical provenance. The set also includes a cobalt blue ruffled bud vase and two emerald green leaf-shaped candy dishes. The decanter features a hand-painted “20.” mark on the base. The collection is in good vintage condition; the glass is vibrant with no major cracks, though light shelf wear, minor ruby flash fading, and small flea bites consistent with age are present. Antique Ruby Victorian-era shaker features a classic ruby-stained neck over a clear pressed glass body. The design showcases a “thumbprint” or “bullseye” pattern around the base, while the ruby-stained shoulder is adorned with delicate frosted or etched scrollwork. The underside reveals a crisp, multi-pointed starburst pattern, a hallmark of quality 19th-century pressed glass. It is fitted with a simple, aged metal screw-on cap. Overall, the glass remains in good condition with minor surface wear and some loss to the ruby staining; the metal lid shows a dark patina and pitting consistent with age and exposure to salt. Decanter: H 15″, W 3.5″, D 3.5″; blue Vase: H 7″, W 4.5″, D 4.5″; Dishes: H 6.5″, W 5.25″, state fair sm pitcher H4.25, W 4.25; H 3.75, W 4.75; shaker H 3” W 2”. 8 overall pieces including 1 top.
