Lot 517:
Description
This striking Yixing Zisha clay teapot features a distinctive square, flared architectural form inspired by ancient Chinese bronze bells. The body is expertly impressed with archaic seal script calligraphy within a stylized frame, reflecting the scholarly “literati” aesthetic typical of fine 20th-century stoneware. The rich, reddish-brown clay possesses a fine, matte grain characteristic of authentic purple sand ore. Included is the matching square lid with a bridge-style finial. The underside of the teapot and the interior of the lid both feature crisp, impressed maker’s seals. Overall, the piece is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or repairs, showing only minor surface dust consistent with display. H 4.5″, W 6.5″, D 4.25″ 2pcs with cover
