Description

A Victorian-era cottage washstand or commode, likely crafted of walnut or stained hardwood with burl veneer accents on the drawer fronts and door panel. The piece features a gallery backsplash, a single full-width top drawer, a vertical bank of three smaller drawers on the left, and a cupboard door on the right. The drawer construction notably exhibits Knapp joinery (pin-and-cove), precisely dating the manufacture to the 1870–1900 period. It rests on casters and retains brass drop pulls with incised floral aesthetic decoration. Condition is fair, showing age-appropriate wear including water rings, staining, and finish loss to the top surface; there is a visible chip to the molding on the top drawer front and wood loss on the lower right foot corner. 34″ H x 30″ W x 17″ D. Note: Pickup/Transport required. Contacts available post auction.
