Old West & Native American Auction
Lot 1421:
Description
A fantastic early 20th century, whiskey bottle and glass. A quintessential piece of American saloon and liquor history, the bottle’s style is that of a common early liquor flask or decanter, made of clear, molded glass with a distinctive fluted body and a tapered neck with a smooth lip, designed for a cork stopper. The front boldly features the brand name “KEY CITY CLUB WHISKEY” applied white enamel “pyroglaze,” indicating it was a branded product. Key City Club Whiskey was a product of the Rhomberg Brothers Company out of Dubuque, Iowa. The bottle is in very good condition and there are no chips or cracks in the glass. The applied enamel lettering is largely intact with only minor wear visible, which is common for an item of this age. H11.5″, W 3.5″. The clear shot glass has a vertical fluting or paneling pattern lower body. The shot glass is of modern production.
