Description
A collection of eight butcher knives of various sizes and blade types, used by Native Americans circa late 1800s or early 1900s. They feature predominantly wooden handles but there are 2 handles that have stitched leather covers on them, and aluminum handle, and a twine wrapped handle example. This last knife, was manufactured by John Wilson in Sheffield England, a renowned maker of knives for butchering. Blade is marked “I WILSON/ SYCAMORE ST /SHEFFIELD ENGLAND” and has the “Peppercorn and Diamond” makers mark of the company. Dimensions range from shortest to longest: 8.75” to 14.5”.
