Description
Southwestern Native American coiled basket likely Apache or similar, based on its design and rigid warp construction. The entire basket exhibits zigzags throughout the entire piece likely utilizing devil’s claw for a bold pattern. This particular piece does not sit quite flat suggesting it was hung or sat for a very long time in a certain position. Diameter 12.25” and depth at its highest 3.75” and lowest 3” Several losses of weft ear the rim. A beautiful, bold piece overall.
