Old West & Native American Auction
Lot 1126:
Description
Nice trio of authentic North American lithic projectile points. Made of chert or a similar flint-like material, typical of prehistoric tools. They range from a mottled brown and cream color, to dark grey/black. The knapping work is visible across all three pieces, showing the reduction technique used to shape the material. The points have been cataloged with visible markings: “B 10”; “30-35 -10-15”; and “25-30-5-10″ on the right. These markings appear to be modern collector/site notations. The condition appears to be excellent, consistent with excavated artifacts that show wear from age and use, but with no major modern damage or breaks. Measurement range, the largest point H 3.5″, with the others being slightly smaller. H 2.5” From the Native American display in Donley’s Wild West Town.
