Description
This Native American bow, attributed to the Sioux tribe. It measures 44.25” in length. Constructed from a single piece of wood likely Osage orange or Hickory, commonly used by Plains tribes. The bow has a thick central grip and a gentle curve on either side. It is painted with a green and red section on the top and bottom with black striped borders. The nocks are also painted black. It has a braided sinew or nylon string. There is a structural crack and the central grip portion extending into the red painted sections of the bow. Please see photos.
