Description
This is a simple yet refined Northern Plains Catlinite pipe, circa 1900, carved from sacred red Catlinite revered by the Plains and Woodland tribes alike. It features a pipe that tapers to a hexagon at the tip and that has ringed bowl ends and base. The stem itself is a mix of angular and round design. Wooden connecting piece (taped break) and mouthpiece. Aside from the stem repair, in good condition. Dimensions: 21” long x 1” wide overall. Pipe effigy: 4” tall x 8.5” long. Stem 13.25” long.
