Description
This Jicarilla Apache basket tray is hand woven using traditional techniques. The tray exhibits a shallow shape with two small handles woven into the rim opposite each other. The weaving is tight and intricate. Featuring a concentric coil pattern that spirals from the center outwards. The natural fibers likely willow or sumac display an earthy tone. Faintly visible is a reddish brown geometric pattern motif throughout. Rim is a herringbone weave. Dimensions: 20.5” diameter at handles x 19.25” diameter of rim alone. 5.25” tall with base diameter approximately 6”. See photos.
