Description
A wonderful example of a classic turn-of-the-century countertop display case by the noted Chicago manufacturer, Chas. Bodach & Sons. These showcases were staples in jewelers, tobacconists, and general stores. This piece features a handsome wood frame with brass corner hardware and trim connectors all intact, original curved front glass panel. Glass is good and looks original. Access is through a mirrored drop down door in the rear, with original latch, and changed hinges. The case is in well-used, as-found condition; the wood shows scratches and wear, the brass is tarnished, the interior felt is worn, and the mirrored door shows age-appropriate de silvering. Overall fair to good condition.
Measure 37″ wide, 28″ deep, 14.5″ tall.
