Vintage Industrial Green Porcelain Light Sockets
As an enthusiast of early industrial lighting, I immediately recognize this lot of five porcelain and steel socket covers, four of which appear to be standard ‘pendant’ style and one featuring a central heavy-duty hook for suspension. The iconic dark green porcelain enamel finish with the white ceramic socket interior points to the robust, utilitarian lighting fixtures common in factories, warehouses, and barns from the early to mid-20th century, likely dating the era to the 1920s-1950s. The socket with the hook is marked “LEVITON”. The green, bell-shaped covers are made of enameled steel or iron, designed for both protection and a degree of visual appeal in an industrial setting. The lot includes five total light socket cup assemblies. Condition is fair to good vintage, showing expected signs of industrial use and age, including chips and losses to the green porcelain enamel finish, exposing the dark metal underneath, as well as some surface oxidation/rust on the bare metal parts, including the central hook. The wiring leads appear new and may be ready to wire into your project, but should be checked by qualified electrician before use. H 4.5″, W 3.25″, D 3.25′. See photos.
