Description

This is an impressive grouping of twenty (20) antique cast iron fence panels designed in the highly desirable Gothic Revival style, likely dating from the mid-to-late 19th Century. The intricate openwork features repeated quatrefoil patterns, tracery arches, and prominent fleur-de-lis finials along the crest rail, giving them a stately, architectural presence reminiscent of cathedral ironwork. These sections were originally intended for use as a decorative balustrade or crested fence topper on a low wall or along a roofline. The material is heavy, robust cast iron with a deep, naturally oxidized patina and surface rust consistent with age and long-term outdoor exposure. The condition is good overall for architectural salvage of this age, though the pieces show varying degrees of surface corrosion, chipped edges, and signs of use, including some broken or rough connecting tabs. These imperfections do not compromise the structural integrity or the striking aesthetic of the lot, which presents a fantastic opportunity for restoration or repurposing in a historic garden or building project.
