October Fall Classic
Lot 1234:
Description
Produced in the Comtoise region of France, circa 1850-1860, these clocks were unique in that they strike the hour twice approximately 2 minutes apart. Per hand written note from 1972, Wheels are of cast brass and the plates are vertical pillars of steel with brass inserts for bearings. In good condition considering age with scuffs and bends. Missing weights and key – in need of repair. Would make a great restoration project.
