Description
A magnificent and complete three-piece clock garniture, embodying the opulence of the late 19th century Louis XVI revival style. The central mantel clock features a fine white marble case, heavily adorned with beautifully cast and finished dore bronze (ormolu) mounts. The allegorical theme, likely Venus and Cupid, is rendered with exquisite figural sculptures. The set is completed by a true pair of lidded marble and ormolu urns that also function as candelabra. The entire ensemble is in excellent antique condition, with clean marble and bright, well-preserved gilding. The enamel clock dial appears to be flawless. Winds and runs, chimes on hour and half hour. Clock measures 15″ tall, 12″ wide, 5.5″ deep. Urns 11.5″ tall, 4.5″ diameter
