October Fall Classic
Lot 1216:
Description
This is a fantastic piece of automotive dealership advertising, likely dating from the 1980s or 1990s. It is a vaccu-form plastic sign and clock featuring the classic Cadillac crest and shield logo. These large, rectangular sign clocks were typically hung in the offices or service/leasing departments of authorized Cadillac dealerships to promote their financing and leasing programs. The design is classic and corporate, utilizing a combination of a navy blue face for the clock portion and a simulated cream/gold panel for the main text, all set within a handsome, simulated light oak wood grain frame. This style offers a more modern, executive-office aesthetic than the earlier neon or bubble glass clocks. The item includes the sign, clock mechanism, and power cord/adapter (visible). The condition is good with expected minimal visible wear; the face is bright and the colors are strong with no minute cracks and fading of the graphics in parts. The wood-grain frame is also in good shape. The sign lights up with a pull chain switch and the clock runs. The clock hands are intact and the item appears to have been well-preserved. H 15.5″, W 45.5″, D 5″. See photos.
