What a great find—this is a classic biker pairing that screams 1970s to 1980s Americana, exactly in line with the period when Harley-Davidson apparel was finding its way onto top-quality blanks like this. The centerpiece is the Harley-Davidson zip-front shirt, featuring a timeless two-tone raglan sleeve design. The inner Champion Processed Sportswear tag, sizing it as a Small (34-36), is consistent with late 60s/early 70s athletic wear blanks, which were commonly overprinted by dealerships. This style of Harley lettering is a great period graphic. It’s paired with a quintessential Levi Strauss denim trucker-style vest, cut to be sleeveless, which features an awesome, embroidered “MOTOR HARLEY-DAVIDSON CYCLES” patch on the back. The whole ensemble has clearly been worn and loved on the road; the shirt shows extensive discoloration, staining, and soiling, giving it a gritty, authentic “barn find” or “road worn” patina. The denim vest has natural fading, heavy fraying around the cut armholes, and general surface wear, which is exactly what a collector looks for in true vintage motorcycle cuts.
