The John Bannister Collection - D-Day and Militaria
Lot 2316a:
Description
3 WW2 Training Grenades. 1 US MKII Pineapple style training grenade with holes cut in body for use with active fuses, German M24 “Potato Masher” stick Grenade. This appears to be a fired grenade handle assembly put onto an inert head assembly that would be filled with sand for training. As is it makes an excellent display piece with fantastic markings. The final piece in the lot is a Japanese training grenade. This consists solely of a grenade body with no fuse assembly. It was filled with metal to allow training in proper throwing of the grenade with no danger of explosion. Excellent display or collector lot. See photos.
